Oracle Senior Cloud DevOps NSC in United Kingdom

Job Description

We are looking for Senior DevOps professionals to join our growing Oracle Analytics Applications Cloud Operations team. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our critical cloud infrastructure, incident management, deployment automation across multiple production and preproduction environments, process improvements, and more.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the operation of FAW on OCI using Cloud DevOps methodologies including:

  • Incident management: analyze T2 metrics, and alarms, alongside Lumberjack logs. Troubleshoot, repair, and document infrastructure and service issues.

  • Start / stop / upgrade cloud infrastructure and services using OCI tools.

  • Participate in a follow-the-sun model for 24x7 support of FAW service.

  • Manage and continuously improve existing FAW cloud capabilities and tools, with a focus on OCI tools, process, and configuration.

  • Perform daily tasks in accordance with process, compliance and regulatory standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications

The candidate must have knowledge and experience with:

  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: Configuration, operations, tools and process.

  • Providing Cloud Platform networking, infrastructure, and service support.

  • Methodical approaches to troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems

  • Issue tracking and collaboration (Jira and Confluence).

  • Producing documentation in support of developed work (KBs, run books, help guides).

  • Linux/Unix system administration including system level knowledge of Linux on Cloud Platforms, creating and executing scripts.

  • Networking and TCP/IP fundamentals.

  • Utilizing agile methodologies.

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.

  • Working with remote, global teams as well as individuals.

  • Working independently and in a self-directed manner.

  • Maintain UK National status

  • Collaborating with software developers to optimize deployment processes.

  • Assisting with system troubleshooting and problem resolution.

  • Documenting technical procedures and configurations.

  • Monitoring and supporting OCI Cloud infrastructure, including servers and databases.

  • Championing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the DevOps team

  • Gain and maintain UK Gov security clearance.

  • Minimum 5 years of residency in the UK, with no more than 6 months outside of the UK at any one time

Preferred Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have the follow skillsets:

  • 4+ year experience of running large scale customer facing web services.

  • Cloud Platform experience, such as OCI ,AWS, Azure, or GCP compute, storage, and network operational experience.

  • Understand internet networking services, such as DNS, HTTP, etc.

  • Programming and scripting languages (Python, bash, Java Script - additional experience with Groovy, Java, and/or Go is a plus).

  • Using CI/CD scripting tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

  • Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, and docker-compose).

  • Oracle database, MySQL (experience with MS SQL and/or NoSQL is a plus).

  • Excellent scripting skills in Bash and Python

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana is essential.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

For United Kingdom NSC Roles

  1. Support the product as part of its 24/7 uptime DevOps model. DevOps members will be on-call for weekly shifts. The shift is 7 days, so over the week-end and during holidays. This schedule is standard for our operations team, there is no special compensation or days in lieu. The on-call shift could be as often one week per month.

  2. The DevOps person will be required to either have or gain security clearance for Federal Government work. Clearance is a requirement for this position.
