What You Will Do

The Sr. Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the market of Japan in supporting development and execution of category practices for Indirects Categories (comprising Capital Construction Facility Services (CCFS), Business Services (IT/Non-IT), Marketing and R&D services), including support of sourcing strategy definition, sourcing project execution and stakeholder alignment therein. With strong category focus, the Sr. Sourcing Specialist drives and supports execution of sourcing projects and is the point of interaction between the Category Managers and the procurement operations team and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Aligns With Stakeholders

  • Supports the Category Managers with the identification of stakeholders, the initiation of the strategy development as well as execution of sourcing projects

  • Actively engages with business stakeholders and vendors as defined in alignment with the Category Managers throughout the strategy development and sourcing execution process

  • Ensures that the input from the stakeholders is considered in the process

Supports Sourcing

  • Supports development of Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies in alignment with the Category Managers and ensures proper documentation

  • Provides support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process

o Assists in the development of Rfx

o Supports preparation of supplier communication packages

o Prepares fact-based negotiation packages

o Supports preparation of implementation plan

Performs Sourcing Management

  • Executes end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories

o Participates in internal and external analysis (industry & supplier) in collaboration with Category Managers

o Performs supplier selection and fact-based negotiations, validated by the Category Manager

o Involves the business for actions related to supplier base optimization, KPI implementation and follow up, etc.

o Conducts spend map analysis to monitor spend and ensure that all purchases follow the purchasing process

o Continuously tracks forecasted vs. actual savings according to the Value Tracking Process for category in scope - defines corrective/optimization actions if needed and follows up on them (escalate to Category Manager, if needed)

Acts as an Interface to Operations and Supply Chain teams and interacts with them

  • Interfaces between the Procurement organization and the product development, planning and supply teams in the region in alignment with the Category Manager’s projects

  • Provides insights on Procurement analytics and data to support the new product development

  • Escalates issues to the Category Manager

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Academic background: Appropriate University/bachelor degree qualification is essential. A recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset

  • Language Capabilities: Mandatory High Level Language Proficiency (READ, WRITE & SPEAK) in Japanese and English, Additionally, preferrable to have low/medium level language proficiency in Korean

  • Experience: 3 years’ professional experience in the same functional domain or other related positions, preferably knowledge of category at hand and working in an international environment; good experience with supplier selection, negotiation and contracting area is necessary.
