Technical Support Engineer (Web Gauge)

• Summary: Within our Production Process & Analytics Business Unit we are looking for an experienced and motivated Technical Support Specialist, product line Gauging for Thickness and Basis Weight Measurement (Link: Gauging) with focus on Lithium-Ion Batteries applications and if required extending to other product lines and or applications. As Technical Support Specialist representative in this position, responsible for delivering and build service perfection over and above our customer expectations.

• Location: Suseo, Seoul and Field (travel rate is below than 15%)

• Main work scope: (1) Virtual customer support and training via phone and computer (2) face to face customer support in Suseo Office (Battery Customer Experience Center, Battery CEC) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W075fpjwqOk)

Division summary

The Chemical Analysis Division(CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling, to name a few. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. They allow them to make decisions where they operate and streamline their businesses. CAD is a complex division with a global footprint, broad product portfolio and diverse customer base.

The Production Process & Analytics (PPA) business is a part of CAD. PPA has over 700 employees globally with historical revenues in excess of $200 million dollars.

What you will do:

• Represents our company in a positive, professional manner in all dealing with Thermo Fisher Scientific customers, both external and internal.

• Record and document customer issues using the SalesForce Case Management system.

• Deliver technical support and/or training to customers to help improve product user experience and drive Thermo Fisher customer experience scores.

• Provide Field Service support on a case-by-case basis and coordinated with the Field Service Team.

• Own product related cases and proactively provide solutions to customers.

• Drive continuous improvement using our Practical Process Improvement Business System.

How you will get here:

• More than 3 years of professional experience (over 5 years experience is preferred)

• Electronic knowledge (such as PCB) in professional experience or academic experience is required. - industrial automation, electronic, electrical engineering, mechanic engineering

• SW Language knowledge (Python, Matlab, C++) is plus

• Diploma or equivalent education preferable in electronic or electrical engineering is plus.

• Analytical device related experience is plus - such as Web Gauge, Thickness Gauge, Analytical/process instrumentation, chemistry, pneumatics, mechanics, aviation and/or electronics

• Field service experience (technical) or strong service knowledge

• Preferable knowledge in Lithium Ion Batteries industrial process

• Outstanding solving skills passionate about electromechanical, software and application issues

• Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal communication both written and oral in English and preferable second language

• Ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations

• Customer friendliness and a professional attitude

• PC literacy including MS Office 365.

• Ability to travel (both domestic and internationally) up to 15%

• Valid driver's license
