Exciting Opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer.

We are searching for a Technical Support Engineer to join our talented team based in Peterborough.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will support the business and its customers in providing technical support both internally and externally. You will ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction with our services and equipment, particularly those customers with Customer Care Agreements. You will also be the main point of contact for remote monitoring of customer equipment.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Use knowledge and experience to troubleshoot operational and control system problems as efficiently as possible.

  • Review site operational data, and data recorded using remote monitoring, to enable the creation of operational assessment reports as per the requirements of the Customer Care Agreements (CCA’s).

  • Correctly record all technical queries and communications to allow all departments to review the current situation and the answers provided to the Customers.

  • Providing review and recommendations on findings in Field Service Engineer reports.

  • Review of control panels for obsolescence, upgrades and modifications.

  • Support the development of engineered solutions.

  • Writing of technical reports

  • D e li ve r y of cus t o m e r so l u t i ons

  • Ensure a swift technical response to all customer queries and follow the technical support process and guidelines.

  • Provide a strong link between Customer Services and Engineering,

  • Gr o wi ng t he bus i ness

  • Review panel architecture and document the possibility of implementing new designs, procedures, or processes to complement our customer care agreements.

  • Identifies and defines opportunities for development of products and services provided by the Company.

  • To be a problem solver, and not afraid to use new ideas / initiatives and challenge our processes. Preparation of Technical Service Bulletins for use both externally and internally.

  • Provide content to allow others to deliver customer training as and when required by the business, organise and support other resources that will provide training services

To be successful you must have …

  • At least 3 years or equivalent experience in a controls engineering role

  • RelevantqualificationsinEngineering,minimumHNC.

  • GoodunderstandingofthecontrolarchitectureandsystemsusedintheoperationofRotating equipment.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry HSE practices and requirements.

  • Computerliterate,organised,hastheabilitytostayfocussedtocompletecomplextasks.

  • Good with detail and able to see tasks through to completion swiftly and effectively.

  • Capabletorespondeffectivelyinacrisissituation.

  • Excellent written, telephone and face-to-face communication skills

It’s a bonus if you have (but not essential) ..

  • Experience in the oil, gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries.

  • StrongtechnicalknowledgeofRotatingEquipment,ReciprocatingCompressors&SteamTurbines.

  • BasicAutoCADskillsforminordrawingmodifications

  • Experience of Woodward governors

  • Control system commissioning knowledge.

  • Experienceofremotemonitoringofrotatingmachinery

  • Goodcommercialexperiencewithavarietyofdifferentcontracttype.
