IBM Security Architect in Heredia, Costa Rica

Your Role and Responsibilities

Security Architect with an Enterprise specialty takes security requirements necessary to protect the client's mission and business processes to adequately address all aspects of cybersecurity architecture including reference models, segment and solution architectures, and the resulting systems supporting those missions and business processes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

The Security Architect role focuses on the design of business-driven Information Technology solutions to meet security requirements related to function, protection, assurance, risk management and compliance. The scope of work includes:

(1) the collection and validation of requirements,

(2) the identification of risks, threats, vulnerabilities, potential anomalous flows and interactions,

(3) the definition of the security processes for assurance, management and compliance,

(4) the definition of security subsystems, and (5) the design of integration and deployment architectures for security in Networks, Infrastructure, Middleware, Applications and Systems & Service Management systems.

Depending on the area of work, the Security Architect may perform evaluation and selection of the components, design of hardware, software, process and service components of the solution, assurance of deployment architectures, and guide secure engineering practices in development. Guides Functional Objectives or Technologies.

Professional knowledge related to incumbent's function/business unit and its processes.

Communication/Negotiation:

Advises other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiates to define approaches and goals.

Problem Solving:

Recognizes complex problems related to functional objectives. Applies creativity and judgment to developmental work on different projects within the business environment. Analyzes situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes.

Contribution/Leadership:

Provides ongoing technical/operational guidance to lead professional work teams, conducts special projects, or manages department(s) (national or international). Understands department/ functional mission and vision. Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside department or function. Sometimes no precedent exists. Defines and decides objectives within specified business concept or project and may have responsibility for tools and assigned resources.

Impact on Business/Scope:

Accountable for department results and for activities and/or projects involving multi-functional teams.

Activities are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, and impact project costs or expenses. Regularly participates in overall functional program planning.
