We are seeking a professional like you to join our North America Machinery Team. In this key role, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support for designated Heavy Duty Rotating Equipment (HDRE), centrifugal compressor trains, and regional technical monitoring and diagnostics support for HDRE/machinery. As a Centrifugal and Diagnostics Engineer , you will join a high-performance team dedicated to improving and sustaining asset performance to meet the needs of our business partners.

As a HDRE Centrifugal Compressor and Diagnostics Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...

  • Managing all aspects of asset performance (mechanical, automation, controls, electrical, instruments, spare parts, etc.) and developing a robust strategic long term plan that includes proper overhauls and replacements/upgrades to ensure reliable equipment performance throughout the life cycle.

  • Representing BASF Technical Expertise in the design, selection, installation and start up of critical Heavy Duty Rotating equipment required to enable various energy optimization solutions.

  • Presenting proposals and recommendations to improve overall asset life cycle management to various groups and departments ranging from field support personnel to senior leaders and strengthen the global network of contacts and stakeholders. Utilizing your desire for continuous improvement and continuously looking to collect and share best practices across the global network.

  • Leveraging your knowledge of maintenance and reliability tools and programs including but not limited to vibration, lubrication, thermography, root cause failure analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, etc. consistently driving improved performance of assets to meet aggressive business targets.

  • Utilizing your field experience, acting in a leadership role for repair/upgrade efforts in routine and Turnaround activities. This practical ‘hands on’ experience will allow you to develop work scopes, evaluate spare part requirements, and provide quality assurance during execution to drive best in class repairs and upgrades of various assets.

  • Participating in PHA and HAZOP activities and Management of Change, ensuring assets are started, operated, and maintained in a safe condition. You will support sustainability and knowledge management by developing and delivering training to a wide range of colleagues including Production, Technology, and Maintenance personnel.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or Chemical Degree, preferred with 10+ years of experience.

  • Possess technical skills, centrifugal compressor train experience, and ability to develop relationships.

  • Have monitoring and diagnostics skills which will be displayed by a minimum Level III vibration, with the expectation to obtain level IV certification within 12-24 months.

  • Possess collaboration and leadership skills to help you lead and strengthen strategic relationships internally with colleagues.

  • Show enthusiasm for technology which will be an asset as you monitor technical developments within the marketplace and evaluate the potential to implement within the equipment population.
