As Amazon Web Services (AWS) continues to build upon the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure, we need Server Engineers to maintain our highly reliable, scalable, low-cost physical infrastructure that powers businesses and individuals all around the world, connecting our customers to their customers.

About The Role

Data Center Operations (DCO) Technicians are a part of the Infrastructure Operations Team, the backbone of AWS that supports our rapidly growing AWS business and customers 24/7. DCO Technicians maintain the infrastructure, including servers, network devices and other components and parts, ensuring we continue to raise the standards for operational performance in the areas of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.

Each day presents itself with unique challenges, which include:

• Onsite coverage as a Team in shifts and/or weekly oncall

• Responding to high-severity events within SLAs

• Participate in Data Center power & cooling events

• Break-fix of servers and network devices

• Troubleshooting of network connections

• Coordinating and building relationships with various Data Center teams

• Interact with third party vendors & contractors

• Seeking out ways to improve yourself and the processes and systems with which you work

• Contribute to the development of other team members

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Basic Qualifications

• Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience

• Network Hardware knowledge: Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, Routers

• Solid Understanding of Linux/Unix Administration

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent formal qualification in IT related field (to be amended based

on the region’s specifics)

• Experience with Linux and network protocols in Data Center

• Proficient with ticketing systems and Change Management Systems (CMS)
