Key Objective(s):

The main purpose of the IT Network Operations Technician is:

• To execute the daily operations of on premise network operations needs of the organization. This includes and not limited to installation and maintenance of network connectivity hardware and cabling (Fiber, Copper) for the data and voice needs of the enterprise. The Network Operations Technician will also work with VoIP applications, VoIP hardware deployment, Wi-Fi access points, network racking/stacking, cable management and digital camera space.

  Primary Responsibilities:

• Low Voltage Copper, Fiber Optic installation and testing.

• Net Terminations, Patching, tracing, troubleshooting.

• POTS Lines.

• Physical Camera deployment and maintenance, troubleshooting and upkeep.

• Voice Product Support and Management.

• Wi-Fi installation and troubleshooting.

• Network equipment installation assistance, rack/stack.

• Network cabling and cable management.

• On call coverage participation.

  Desired Qualifications:

• Job holder may be called upon to provide support for service issues or failures at any time.

• Knowledge of network architecture in the physical topology in a data center/enterprise environment.

• Low Voltage Data certification

• CFOT fiber optic certificate a plus

• Previous experience with VoIP deployment and management

• 5 years of experience in an enterprise setting

• Technical degree with 5 years of experience in an enterprise/corporate environment.

• Must have a proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, and with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

• Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance.

• Perform other duties as assigned

  Physical Job Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

• Must be able to use ladders/lifts/harnesses (safety training will be provided)

• Sitting for extended periods of time.

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
