Position Summary

Senior Associates play an integral client-facing project or work-stream leadership role. While activities vary based on project size/scope and individual skill-sets and strengths, the Sr. Associate can expect to spend their time with a heavy focus on material client interaction through all projects, project management, intensive data-analysis and the identification for the “so-what’s” therein, and to creating compelling client-ready presentations. Additionally, the Sr. Associate will focus on developing Analysts and Coachees.

Position Summary

The Salesforce Solution Architect for advancement will be responsible for designing solutions on the Salesforce platform with a specific focus on the Advancement RM managed package that support advancement. This will include an expert understanding of Salesforce.com standard applications functionality, Salesforce application development and integration, and the ability marry these products with business requirements to ensure optimal scalable solutions and adoption for our advancement clients.

Candidate must be able to lead business requirements gathering sessions, write requirements, solution design documents and manage configuration tasks, including management of business analysts (onshore and offshore) who will support requirements development, documentation, data mapping, and configuration. They also must have an expert understanding of advancement use cases and system configurations for engagement, annual giving, frontline fundraising, prospect management, prospect research, gift processing, and campaigns. The Solution Architect should have a deep understanding of advancement data and be able to bridge functional design with the data.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Design and document an end-to-end Salesforce solution in the Advancement RM managed package.

  • Lead business requirements workshops with business leaders, subject matter experts and key client sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Lead projects through requirements definition and solution design phases and write solution design documents.

  • Deliver solutions for the Salesforce.com platform and the Advancement RM managed package to meet business requirements, including Implementing common third-party on-platform applications that support advancement (e.g., address validation, prospect research, document generation, Salesforce Inbox, Salesforce Maps, etc.)

  • As needed, provide functional leadership and oversight for the implementation of associated Cloud platforms, such as Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud, in partnership with Huron subject matter experts

  • Lead reporting workstreams for standard Salesforce reports and dashboards to implement reporting solutions that meet common advancement use cases (e.g., lists, comprehensive campaigns, development officer metrics, alumni engagement, annual giving, prospect management, etc.).

  • Partner with the technical architect/data conversion lead to ensure accurate data mapping from legacy source system to target system and/or be able to lead a business analyst in supporting this work.

  • Contribute to every phase of the project lifecycle, including development, testing, and deployment (leveraging best practices in release management and devops, as directed by a technical architect).

  • Effectively work with comprehensive project teams, including project managers, business analysts, technical architects, customers, developers, and engagement leads.

  • Manage scope and client expectations, escalating risks and issues to project leadership proactively.

  • Design and manage the execution of user acceptance testing and ensure a quality solution is delivered.

  • Lead knowledge transfer activities and support development of training materials.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an advancement organization or on Advancement implementations.

  • Proven ability to design and optimize advancement business processes and to integrate these business processes across disparate systems.

  • 5 or more years of experience managing external client projects in positions of increasing responsibility in the delivery of business consulting and systems development; or a hands-on role in an implementation of the Advancement RM managed package.

  • Knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM, SFA, and ERP.

  • Direct knowledge of Affinaquest Advancement RM.

  • Minimum certification required: Salesforce Certified Administrator
