Data Solutions Architect/Developer Role – S&SD

Job Description Summary

As a Data Solutions Architect/Developer at Philips Healthcare – S&SD, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, architect scalable data architectures, and develop end-to-end data pipelines. You will leverage your expertise in data engineering, software development, and architecture to deliver high-quality solutions that drive measurable business value.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and define data solution architecture.

  • Work to design and architecture of end-to-end software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scalability, and performance.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.

  • Evaluate existing systems and technologies, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions.

  • Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate architectural decisions and demonstrate feasibility.

  • Define coding standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure high-quality and maintainable software solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and incorporate them into the architectural roadmap.

  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance assessments to identify areas for optimization and enhancement.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to prioritize features, define technical requirements, and drive product development initiatives.

Job Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Experience in working with AWS services like EC2, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, Kinesis.

  • Experience in working with AWS tools like CloudFormation, OpsWorks, VPCs.

  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Github, Azure DevOps Pipelines

  • Experience with Docker, CloudFoundry and/or Kubernetes

  • Experience and ability to create, modify, and tune scripts (python, bash, etc.)

  • Experience and ability to setup automated monitoring & alerting systems

  • Experience in working with Windows Server OS'es and Powershell

  • Fundamental and strong understanding of servers, networking, and storage.

  • Fundamental and strong understanding of Linux, sysadmin, and automation tools

  • B.S. in Computer Science or like technical discipline

  • Strong background in development processes

  • Active listening and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately in all situations

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and work under pressure

  • Ability to communicate with multiple teams and vendors effectively

  • Ability to pay attention to detail, learn, and apply new skills

  • Ability to read and understand various programming languages

  • Desirable: Experience with MySQL or other Relational Database environments

  • Desirable: Previous cloud migration experience

Additional skills and experience that are desirable:

  • Preference to work GMT-7, GMT-6, or GMT-5 time zones.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Terraform).

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
