Amazon Software Development Engineer, Customer Experience & Business Trends in Bangalore, India

Are you customer-obsessed, data oriented, and confident in proposing opportunities to improve our customer’s experience across different Amazon businesses?

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Customer Experience & Business Trends team in Bangalore, India. You will be part of the team that is responsible for designing, developing and deploying cutting edge solutions to measure our customer experience. Working closely with other engineers and scientists in the org you will drive system architecture, spearhead best practices, mentor junior engineers and innovate solutions to measure digital experience by latency and quality metrics.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Architect, design, and implement reliable micro-services with a frontend web service.

  • Write maintainable code, perform peer code-reviews, write technical design documents, and participate in technical design discussions.

  • Identify, instrument and monitor critical CX (customer experience) metrics.

  • Have a high attention to detail, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to drive measurable results.

  • Mentor and Grow our junior developers in the team and raise bar by setting high design and coding standards

As a Software Development Engineer at Customer Experience & Business Trends, you're poised to make a significant impact on enhancing Amazon's customer experiences. Your role involves collaborating closely with a team of engineers to design and develop solutions aimed at automating the measurement of customer experience. You will develop and own solutions that involve creating algorithms, implementing data processing pipelines, building user interfaces for data visualization. You will engage with business stakeholders and product teams to gather insights into the specific metrics and aspects of customer experience that are most important to Amazon's success.

Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings for almost every business at Amazon - for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).

Our approach is based on determining the customer needs, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds - including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solution Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Experience in customer facing roles and engagement with product and stakeholders teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
