IBM Content and Client Experience Narrative Strategist in Bangalore, India

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Content and Client Experience Strategy team creates and curates content and experiences that articulate and amplify a compelling, differentiated, and consistent narrative about how IBM and our ecosystem of partners create value for our clients, educate them about our technology and consulting expertise, and ultimately drive IBM business growth. The team ensures that our messaging at events and experiences (e.g., Innovation Studios) is:

  • aligned to IBM's GTM strategy to deliver on business growth

  • delivered in fresh and engaging formats that foster strong emotional connections and a deep understanding of IBM

  • can be scaled with consistency and relevancy across markets

As a narrative strategist, you will focus on cultivating a deep understanding of the market, our clients, and IBM's differentiated value. The ideal candidate will pull that understanding into well researched points of view around how IBM technology and expertise deliver value across various themes, industries, and business imperatives. You will also work to create unique narratives for priority IBM events and client experiences that curates and customizes our IBM story for a particular target audience, including their pain points, motivations, and information needs. You further must galvanize and align all stakeholders, with varying levels of seniority, on the singular narrative and ensure all content and experiences reinforce our overarching story to deliver impactful messages that resonates with our target audience.

This role will work closely with experts across the company including product and content marketing, communications, offering management, sales, and others, to build on their expertise and drive consensus to ensure our content and experience aligns with our business goals and messaging. In addition to the narrative, you will create additional content (e.g., keynotes, discussion guides, panel Q&A, speaking session storyboards/flows, speaking scripts, session titles and abstracts, booth copy and signage, etc.) and provide recommendations on other client-facing assets (e.g., case studies, videos, demos, etc.). You will also collaborate closely across the broader team to to bring to life the event themes in new and memorable ways and to measure and analyze content performance to continuously improve our content and experience strategies and achieve business objectives.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, and/or across marketing disciplines (events, product, content, etc.)

  • Proven experience in content creation, storytelling, or copywriting, preferably in a B2B technology environment

  • Ability to bring an outside-in perspective through a deep understanding of the market, with a particular emphasis on the portfolio that IBM serves

  • Ability to synthesize components into a cohesive narrative with differentiated messaging and powerful storytelling

  • Stellar critical & analytical thinking skills combined with exceptional written and communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging narratives that resonate with our target audience

  • Adaptable and comfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic, rapidly changing environment

  • Strong collaborator and a team-oriented mindset

  • Deep enthusiasm and curiosity about understanding the role of technology in the business world and a strong passion to advocate and champion for technology's role by helping others to better understand it

  • Ability to interact with senior management and influence decision makers

  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills and be a self-motivated individual

  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and curiousity for new technologies and trends

  • Advanced project management skills and experience with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously (3+ years)
