Jabra Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Ballerup, Denmark

As part of our team in Ballerup, you'll be immersed in a diverse and fast-moving environment that thrives on creativity and collaboration. Our Mechanical Engineering team has a proud history of spearheading the complete mechanical design process for a range of Jabra products, including enterprise and consumer OTH headsets, TWS headsets, speakerphones, and video bars.

From concept to finished product, we're involved in every step of the journey, working closely with global R&D partners such as HW, Audio, UX, SW, Sourcing, Operations, Industrial Design, and Product Management. Together, we ensure that our products meet manufacturing standards and exceed customer expectations for success and satisfaction.

Our work encompasses a wide array of activities, including mechanical system creation, architecture, component design, risk assessment, design reviews, simulation, prototyping, validation, and documentation. Currently, our focus lies on the development of cutting-edge Audio/Video products as part of the GN Development Centre Video Systems.

If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of mechanical design and contributing to groundbreaking products like the Jabra P50 video bar, P50 VBS video bar, and Jabra SPEAK2 55 & 75, then we want to hear from you.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Be part of a team developing new products under the Jabra brand.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into the product architecture design.

  • Be responsible of defining and designing complete mechanical systems and components.

  • Use systematic methods and tools to secure robust implementation and solutions.

  • Constantly interact with our suppliers and partners through-out the development phase.

  • Create needed full specifications and documentation.

  • Act as a role model, coach and mentor to junior team members.

  • Keep up to date on new technologies, trends, and best practices and be responsible for evaluation and selection new technologies and suppliers.

  • Contribute to our mechanical strategy and process development.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that

  • You hold a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. within the area of Mechanical Engineering.

  • You have some years of proven experience within designing mechanical systems, components and products for volume manufacturing in the area of consumer electronic devices, medical or similar.

  • You have high experience working in cross functional teams understanding and integrating ID/UX/HW/Audio.

  • You are a highly experienced 3D CAD user, preferably PTC Creo.

  • You have experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

  • You have great communication skills, you speak and write English fluently and can present and communicate ideas and solutions both verbally and visually.

  • Experience and skills in the area of mechanical and thermal simulation is a plus.
