About The Role

The New York Vice President of Regulation and Pricing will lead the strategic direction and operational aspects of regulatory compliance and deliverables for the New York region. The VP will be responsible for developing strategies that meet our customers' needs, achieve timely cost recovery, optimize regulatory outcomes and enhance the company's financial performance.

Responsibilitiesinclude oversight of regulatory filings; strategic and tactical pricing and cost recovery proposals for rate cases and other regulatory initiatives; New York regulatory relationship strategies; wholesale market strategies and policies; and New York Performance Reporting.

Key Accountabilities

As part of this critical role your accountabilities will include:

  • OverseeingNational Grid's regulatory activities, filing requirements and other regulatory initiatives in New York.
  • Working withinthe business to develop strategies to achieve National Grid's business goals through state regulation.
  • Being a point of contact with the New York State Public Service Commission on financial matters, responsible for maintaining positive regulatory relationships with regulatory commissioners and staff.
  • Managingthe Revenue Requirements teams and on a periodic basis, compares the operating companies' approved cost of service to the actual P/Ls to provide the company leadership team with trend analyses to maintain or improve earnings.
  • Actingas sponsor for rate cases and other large rate-related filings, providing direction and leadership to the teams working on these activities.
  • Preparingand delivers testimony as Revenue Requirement witness in rate case proceedings.
  • Proactively managingstakeholder relationships on regulatory and pricing issues affecting the New York business.
  • Leadingthe New York Regulation and Pricing team, providing clear strategic direction and ensuring capability development to enable the team to deliver and perform.
About You

We are looking for experienced candidates who possess the following:

  • Proven executive capabilities to lead, motivate and develop required departmental capabilities and future leaders
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to analyze business issues, provide strategic direction on regulatory matters, motivate the team and develop the capability of the organization to succeed
  • A demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and prioritize a broad range of issues coupled with strong decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of utility finance, economics, accounting, ratemaking and revenue requirements
  • Experience in financial and business case development and analysis
  • Excellent problem solving and strategic skills
  • The ability to establish credibility and maintain stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • The ability to communicate and work with people at all levels and across organizational boundaries, including ability to comprehend and explain highly complex information to a less technical audience
  • Strong project management skills
